Springing into our second wedding season!

Hey everybody! It’s been awhile since our last blog so, it’s time for an update on what’s been happening and what will be happening at Bloom this upcoming season!

As Spring is here, snow and all, we have a lot of things to be thankful for, and a lot to look forward to!  Our first winter went by much more quickly than we had thought and there wasn’t much downtime. Call me crazy but, I actually feel like parts of it seemed more hectic than a wedding season! We sure had our hands full. Between repainting the barn interior with a fresh coat of white, hosting a handful of events, meeting with our awesome 2018 couples to review their big day, and also meeting couples interested for 2019. All while planning for our future in Hancock. Oh, and who isn’t trying to get all their tax information together right now?! -Thanks, Rachel!

As we continue to learn the needs of our clients and venue, we will be adding or improving pieces of the puzzle until everything fits as it should. With that said, have you noticed the large cleared out lot next to us? Well, we have started working on a new parking lot. This will help with a few of the larger weddings we have planned, and any larger functions we may hold in the future.

As of yesterday, I’ve been on the hunt for some outdoor benches to use for wedding ceremonies…Now, who can hook me up with a Restoration Hardware employee discount? Just kidding, kind of?… Regardless of whatever benches we end up with, I cannot express how excited having benches seriously make us! They are going to look down-right amazing with the meadow backdrop! It’s also going to remove the need for running chairs back and forth in the hot summer sun.

Have you heard of Mountain Home Landscape’s new fully organic lawn care program? Well, you should check it out! Bloom will be using it this season to keep our grounds looking fresh without the chemical smells and potential run-off. Our garden guru, Nikki, has some big beautiful plans for our gardens too. You will have to stay tuned for that.

Now onto weddings! We are just two weeks away from our second season starting up. While last year was a fantastic opening season, we will be hosting an additional 10 weddings this year! Sure, it’s a lot more work, but, we couldn’t be more excited to kick the season off with these great couples and their talented vendors.

Lastly, I want to leave you all with some beautiful photos from our first-ever winter wedding! captured by the talented, Elaina Mortali. My sister Sadie, and new brother-in-law Tyler said I-do at Bloom in February and boy, was it dreamy! Guests were greeted with welcome-fires and hot chocolate before entering out to the patio for the ceremony. Crisp had their brick pizza oven going, soup cooking over open flame and homemade gelato with apple crisp to top off the night. The tables were lined with fresh evergreen garlands, collected and made by my mother, myself and Rachel. Rachel was behind much of the talent with constructing these, I mean check out that swag on the arbor, just gorgeous!

If you have been thinking of a winter wedding but hesitant of possible weather conditions, don’t be. This is New England, winter is just as unpredictable as the spring, summer and fall so plan the wedding of your dreams!

Enjoy!
